PRIVATE SECTOR ORGANISATIONS IN FIJI ATTEND ONE DAY EVENT TO ACCELERATE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES
Senior business leaders from some of the largest industries in the country have convened for a one-day event that is targeted at accelerating meaningful private sector contributions to the environment.
Organized the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation, the private sector event provides a platform for its members to share proven results in their respective organizations, improve on existing sustainability and corporate social responsibility practices, benchmark across industries then gain consensus on seven thematic areas.
With business leaders from the diary, finance, food processing, fuel, telecommunication, manufacturing and tourism industries as well as statutory organizations like the Fiji Development Bank and Investment Fiji; this event is designed to generate discussion, consolidate industry efforts as well as enhance the thought processes from the private sector who are looking for Fiji specific models to deliver measurable impact that is informed by scientific research, national environmental policies and global Sustainable Development Goals.
The event “Incorporating Environmental Sustainability into Fijian Business” is being facilitated by two time international award winning Sustainability Manager Dwain Qalovaki who has led private sector environmental initiatives across the energy, supermarkets, tourism, sports and finance industries in the Pacific region. He is the Head of Dwain Qalovaki and Associates, a Sustainability firm registered in Fiji since 2016.
