Promoting Safe Workplaces Through Social Dialogue

The National Occupational Health & Safety Advisory Board (NOSHAB) is Fiji’s principal tripartite advisory body on workplace health and safety matters.

FCEF participates in NOSHAB as the recognised representative of employers, ensuring that occupational health and safety policies are practical, balanced and aligned with business operations.

As part of its broader governance and advocacy mandate, FCEF:

Nominates employer representatives to national advisory boards
Engages in consultation on workplace safety legislation and regulatory reform
Provides technical feedback on compliance requirements
Ensures employer perspectives are included in OHS policy development

This role reflects FCEF’s broader governance structure, where Board-appointed representatives serve on national committees to influence policy decisions that directly impact employers.

Safe and productive workplaces are central to economic sustainability. Through NOSHAB, FCEF supports policies that:

Protect workers
Promote compliance and risk management
Enhance productivity and business continuity
