FCEF COUNCILS

FCEF maintains nine standing councils at present, each with its own chairman and membership from Members’ representatives interested in the specific work of the councils and drawn from the main membership body. Participation at these monthly councils is encouraged as it provides an excellent forum for networking and exchange of views and experiences.

Mining & Quarry Council

The Mining & Quarry Council (MQC) is the voice of the industry advocating sustainable growth of industry with strong emphasis on responsible practices and environmental sustainability.

Business Disaster Resilience Council

The Business Disaster Resilience Council (BDRC) started in 2016 after the devastation of Tropical Cyclone Winston and continues to support members in preparedness, response, and recovery.

Business Strategy Council

The Business Strategy Council (BSC) has been consolidated from previous smaller councils in order to help address common economic, regulatory, sustainability, and sector-wide challenges.

MSME Council

The Young Entrepreneurs Council (YEC) was formed in 2016 with support from the International Labour Organisation. In 2024, it transitioned to the MSME Council, expanding support for Fiji’s entrepreneurs and reinforcing FCEF’s commitment to nurturing small businesses.

Women Entrepreneurs Business Council

The Women Entrepreneurs Business Council (WEBC) was formed in 2013 with the specific objective of ensuring that the rights and voices of women in business are safeguarded and amplified, particularly those in the informal sector. WEBC has grown remarkably, providing invaluable support and inclusive platforms for women entrepreneurs across Fiji.
