Ensuring Balanced and Sustainable Wage Outcomes

FCEF plays a critical statutory role in Fiji’s Wages Councils (WC), which operate under the Employment Relations framework as part of Fiji’s tripartite system.

As Fiji’s most representative EBMO, FCEF nominates 10 employer representatives to the Wages Councils. These representatives engage directly with Government and Trade Union counterparts to negotiate fair, balanced and economically sustainable wage determinations across sectors.

Tripartism — the structured dialogue between Government, Employers and Workers — is embedded in Fiji’s labour laws. It ensures legitimacy, transparency and consultation in wage-setting processes.
