Business Resilience Toolkit: Managing Disruptions and Disasters in Fiji
This resource aims to strengthen business continuity, protect livelihoods, and contribute to a more resilient private sector and economy in Fiji.
The Business Resilience Toolkit has been developed to support businesses in Fiji to better prepare for, respond to, recover from, and rebuild after disruptions and disasters. It is a practical guide designed for micro, small and medium enterprises, as well as larger businesses, to strengthen their continuity planning and resilience.
Developed by the Fiji Business Disaster Resilience Council, a council under the Fiji Commerce & Employers Federation, the toolkit provides simple checklists, templates and guidance to help businesses understand their risks, protect their people, maintain critical operations, and plan for recovery.
The toolkit is structured around key areas of business resilience, including:
- Preparedness – helping businesses identify risks, assess vulnerabilities and put practical plans in place before a disruption occurs.
- Response – guiding businesses on immediate actions during a disaster or disruption, including staff safety, communication and operational decisions.
- Recovery – supporting businesses to assess impacts, resume operations, protect employment and restore services.
- Reconstruction – encouraging businesses to rebuild stronger and reduce future risks.
- Risk Financing – introducing businesses to financing options, including parametric insurance, to support faster recovery after disasters.
