A meeting between FCEF and the Minister for Immigration and his team has resolved to address specific challenges by agreeing on joint implementation of solutions such as:

(a) developing an updated list on skills gaps

(b) protecting the rights of migrant workers and

(c) ensuring complete documentations are submitted by employers for work permit applications in order to reduce turn around time for applications.

The Minister has stated that 1,771 applications were pending, of which 37% are work permits. FCEF is committed to working with the Fiji Government to address challenges impacting its members and the private sector to to ensure business sustainability and economic growth.
